Review By : Mike T Longview- WOW Just as described and works great right out of the box. It does just what I wanted and easy to navigate.
the only problem I found was when you update the maps (that you get too do 4 times a year free for life) it took 5 hours on high speed.I have no tech problems with my computer and my speed is very well.Just be ready to give it your computer for a while.I was at home and ready to leave for a couple of days.I had to take a different Laptop.I have been caught up in doing updates before at a hotel and needed to leave.I unplugged everything and headed down the road only to find a blue screen that never recovered.Do the updates a couple days before your trip and do it while you sleep.IM Opinion
This Best-Selling GPS tend to SELL OUT VERY FAST!!
If this is a MUST HAVE product, be sure to order now to avoid disappointment.

Garmin Nuvi 1490LMT Review
Garmin makes great GPS units. That’s the lead. My review is more aimed at this version of the 1490 LMT where they misfired. Whatever amount of ad-supported revenue Garmin is getting is not enough to justify the aggravation to consumers.
I shouldn’t have to read other user reviews to find out that the supposedly free traffic updates I paid a premium for are ad supported — and make no mistake – the ads are relentless, repetitive and of little-to-no value. After seeing them for the 100th time, all they do is make me want to never do business with the companies that paid for the ads. Any ad I’ve seen so far, I could get a far better deal with a simple Google/Bing search so where’s the win? Click on it on my GPS for a sub-par deal? Really?
Yes, you can make a case for saying, “Just pay for the uber-super-extra-premium service” but let’s take a second to compare to other ad-supported efforts such as Pandora, YouTube or even, *gasp* Facebook.
The frequency of those ad-supported services (which are far more robust services than mere traffic updates) is a fraction of the Garmin offers. They appear only every several uses — not multiple times every time and in Facebook’s case, you can even close the ad to show you’ve seen it and are not interested.
You can’t decline them, you can’t control how or when they appear except by turning off traffic updates or paying yet another premium for ad-free updates. In my case, there were only two companies misguided enough to pay for the adverts so those are the only ads I see. Every. Single. Time.
The GPS itself works fine though is by no means flawless. The Junction view is great but it often pops up too late to be of use — when you are at (and two lanes over from) or past a critical branch.
The default zoom is too close. I don’t need to have the GPS show me the next curve in the road that I can clearly see through my windshield — I do need enough warning to know which lane to get in. While you can zoom out, as soon as you approach a corner, waypoint or, well, anything, it brings you back to the way-too-close default zoom. You could zoom back 2-3 levels and still see every curve but at least have enough warning to know what is coming.
To each their own but with the plummeting prices of GPS units, a superior ad-free version will be available for less within 3 months. I’m returning this one.
